About
Giverny
Giverny
(pronounced jee-vair-nee) is an area in France where the famous
French painter, Claude Monet, lived and painted the last forty-three
years of his life. It was here that Monet created his now famous
series of Water Lily paintings and other works inspired by his "Gardens
at Giverny."
For
Monet, the outdoors was his studio where he focused on the juxtaposition
of form, and the relationship of light to time of day and season.
The
term "impressionist" painting was derived from one of
Monetıs pieces entitled "Impression: Sunrise," 1872.
Like
Monet, we work with space and form, color and light, to communicate
the beauty of nature and the outdoors. We are also skilled in the
European style of flower arranging which, like Monet's paintings,
is known for its splendor and elegance.
